Filtered Searches gives you 3 types of search filters. The Visual type will provide you a specific search by choosing the type of stock that you're looking for. How to create videos from scratch using Wave.video?

If you already have content and concept for your video, then the best way to start creating is from scratch video project.

Starting from the Wave dashboard, click on the Start from Scratch button. From that, it will lead you to the video creation page having all the tools, templates, fonts, etc., that you need.

So, here are the easy steps that you need to follow whether you're creating from scratch or using a template.

Step 1: Select video format

Wave.video has a lot of video formats to offer. The variety of those formats will depend on your subscribed plan such as:

  • Free plan: Horizontal (16:9) and Square (1:1)
  • Creator plan ($20/month): Horizontal (16:9), Square (1:1), Vertical (9:16), Facebook Cover
  • Pro Plan/Business plan ($40/month): Horizontal (16:9), Square (1:1), Vertical (9:16), Vertical (4:5), Vertical (2:3), Standard (4:3), Facebook Cover

For social media posts like Instagram and Facebook, you won't really need a lot of video formats. You'd probably gonna need the basic ones like horizontal and square.

However, if you need to have a video format for business and marketing plans, you should get a Pro or Business Plan. It will surely work with everything that you need.

Step 2: Add videos and photos

Before taking on to this step, you should first have the copies of videos and photos that you will need if you create a video from scratch.

Simply go to Uploads and then click on the button that says Upload Files to add your images, videos, or GIFs. Hover your mouse over the media file you want to use to create your video. After that, click on the Add button to add it to your project.

However, if you need to do it using Wave.video's media library, there are thousands of stock photos, videos, and GIFs available for you.

Some of which will be premium and would require you to pay a little amount. If you do pay for it, it will be stored under the Purchased section of the page.

Step 3: Editing

Editing will be a little challenging if you are not an expert on this matter. But, we will be teaching you the basics and simpler steps to make it easier for you.

Tips: all the media files (images, videos, GIFs) that you added in Step 2 should be well-organized. Also, you will have to organize, trim, and add all elements like text, music, and watermark.

  • Selected videos and images will be shown together with the controls on the right side of the page.
  • You can zoom in and out of the video, as well as change the speed, trim it, or crop it. 
  • You can also add music or adjust the sound of the video.
  • If you want to trim the video, simply click the Trim button on the right pane. It will automatically separate the video on another page where you can adjust the sliders to pick a portion of it to be seen or used.
  • If you want to add another video to the reel, click on the button that says Add Video-Clip or Image. Clicking that button will direct you to the media panel where you can upload from your device, or browse Wave.video's media library, or buy stock images and videos. After that, hover over the file that you want to add and go to the Add button. Click on that to add your file to the reel and bring you back to editing mode.
  • Transition effects between video clips and images are also available. To do this, click on the box icon in between two clips or images and you will automatically see a list of transitions available.
  • Note that you will need to select a transition for each video or image gap. If you do not want to use transition effects, click None from the list.
  • To add text, click on the box on the video strip that says Add Text. The textbox should appear as an overlay t the selected video clip. And to change its background color, text color, text font, simply add animation effects found on the right side and click Text. Wave.video's text animations were made sure to be modern and eye-catching so you simply use it as your branding.
  • After adding all the text, you can move on to add animated GIFs, pictures, or any images that you uploaded to your library.
  • To add a watermark, you need to have a Business Plan subscription. But if not, you can simply add the logo of your brand. Note that a watermark is a great protection for your video and brand. It is also a way of protecting it from being copyrighted or reproduced without your consent.
  • To add music, simply click Add Music from the left pane and choose the Wave.video's library. Hover the music file and click the Play icon to preview the song and click Add to your video. Note that the music file is automatically adjusted and trimmed according to the length of your video project. You can simply slide the handles to adjust the duration of the music.

Step 4: Publish

Tip: before publishing your video, make sure to have the last preview to check on errors, fix them, and preview again one more time. To do this, click on the huge Play button in the left corner.

If you are good to publish it, then click on the Publish button on the left pane. you opt to share it on social media like Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook. Your video project can also be directly shared on cloud storage such as Google Drive, Dropbox Vimeo, and more. You can also opt to download it on your device.
